Support & FAQ
Getting started
Compound is a free goal and habit tracker for iPhone and iPad. Instead of tasks or streaks, it asks one question each day — “Did you get closer to your goal today?” — answered with one tap: ↑ Closer, → Same, or ↓ Further. Answers compound into a trajectory chart that shows long-term momentum.
On the home screen, tap one of the three buttons under the question: Closer, Same, or Further. Pick the one that feels most honest — the chart updates immediately, and the whole ritual takes about three seconds.
Yes. Tap a different response at any time today and it replaces your previous one instantly — no confirmation dialogs. The chart updates right away.
No. Goals are optional. You can name the goal you’re working toward — which scopes your chart and stats and makes Pulse more personal — or skip it entirely. One goal is active at a time, and starting a new one simply closes the previous chapter.
Yes. Each day can carry one short, optional note alongside your answer — a single line, not a journal. Notes are free for all users, and they give Pulse more to notice.
The chart & stats
Your cumulative direction over time. Each “Closer” nudges the line up, “Further” nudges it down, and “Same” keeps it flat. The line breaks at skipped days, so gaps stay honest. The overall shape reveals your long-term trend — not perfection, but direction.
The day stays unanswered and appears as a gap in the chart. Nothing resets, no streak “breaks,” and the app never guilt-trips you about it. Answer again whenever you’re back.
The streak card is a quiet count of consecutive answered days — information, never pressure. There’s no alarm when it ends, nothing to “save,” and no reward for keeping it alive. It exists to make momentum visible, not to manufacture anxiety.
Pulse & Compound Pro
Pulse is a calm, AI-generated reflection on your momentum — a short, personal observation grounded in your goal, your recent answers, and your notes. Not advice, not coaching: more like a note from someone who’s been paying attention. It appears at most once a day.
Compound Pro is $4.99/month or $29.99/year, each with an optional 14-day free trial that you always start explicitly. Pro unlocks ongoing Pulse reflections. Prices may vary slightly by country; the App Store shows your exact local price.
Free: the daily question, trajectory chart, stats, goals, daily notes, reminders — the entire core app, forever. Pro: ongoing Pulse reflections. Every user also gets one real, generated Pulse during onboarding, free, so you know exactly what you’d be paying for.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple and cancelled in your Apple ID settings: open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → Compound → Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro access until the end of the paid period.
Privacy & data
Only the context needed to generate it: your recent answers, recent daily notes, your active goal, recent Pulse history, and your device locale. Your name, email address, and device identifiers are never sent.
Open the app, go to Settings, and tap “Delete Account.” This permanently removes your account, entries, notes, goals, and Pulse history from our servers. This action cannot be undone.
No. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with encryption at rest and in transit, guarded by security rules that let only you access your own entries. App Check verifies that only the genuine Compound app can talk to our servers.
Devices
Compound runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or later. Your data syncs across your devices automatically.
No. Compound is currently iOS-only. If that changes, it will be announced on this site first.
